Lunch concert with Elina Ijäs

In connection with the official opening of the academic year, Elina Ijäs will give a lunch concert in the canteen.

Elina Ijäs is a young artist and songwriter who grew up in Guovdageaidnu, and who has roots in Gáivuotna. Elina has sung on many stages both in and outside Sápmi, and has also released a lot of music, both together with others and in her own solo projects.

Elina Ijäs writes honest and poetic songs, and shares both difficult feelings and clear opinions in her mother tongue, Northern Sámi. Language is very important to her, and it is also natural for her to write music in Sámi and thus keep the language alive.

This autumn she is releasing her first EP – Luoitte, which you can hear part of in this concert.
